This will absolutely happen, it’s just a matter of how widespread it will be. Psychos in England, France, Belgium, ect still glorify their past empires. There’s always going to be a certain percentage of the population that’s reactionary.

American exceptionalism is baked into the country’s very being, its basic DNA. They would lash out and nuke the world long before they moved away from the idea of exceptionalism. All that parody over the top Americanism that you see in media will slowly become more and more real until the US is just this bizarre parody of itself.
I feel like China could get to FALGSC and US Americans will still believe with just as much fervor that the USA is the greatest country and the best place to live. I mean, all it takes is 15 minutes and an internet connection to see that universal healthcare alone makes life in other countries much better, but US Americans refuse to acknowledge it.

In addition to the “why?”, I’m also just as curious about the “how?”. Like, what is Biden going to do - or what will the US collectively do - that would even make a dent in the eventual outcome? They sure as shit aren’t counting on policy changes to be any different. Neither Biden nor anyone in government wants to invest in technology or do things that would make peoples’ lives better. So HOW in the world is the US gonna stop from getting overtaken by China?
