I don’t feel like watching stuff with subtitles these days so the recommendations need to be real good :)
I met someone who was into Chinese harem dramas, I tried watching some one day and then my ADHD brain just melted
shit by edward yang, wong kar-wai, hou hsiao-hsien, tsai ming-liang, jia zhangke, john woo; Long Day’s Journey Into Night (though not sure it’s plausible to find/view this in 3d).
I don’t feel like watching stuff with subtitles
lmao, ok
I don’t feel like watching stuff with subtitles
So I want something that will keep me engaged :) Thanks for the recs!
ah. okay, well, john woo’s/zhangke’s stuff should be pretty approachable/more immediately engaging. some of the other guys are making more ponderous/“artsy” stuff; ymmv.
Chungking Express might be a good entry point if you have yet to see it – i think that’s pretty universally enjoyed, and should be easy to find/download.
I really liked Happy Times (幸福时光). But I’m weird.
Yeah, I don’t wanna make it difficult by talking about genres and stuff… just good movies.
