As long as we can have a weekly INFLATION MEGATHREAD
This sounds amazing! I am just trying to get back to programming, so this is fantastic news. Thank you for offering to do this!
- Currently my plan is to give front end and web development a serious shot. This is not the only thing I am considering, but I thought it would be a good way to start again.
- I wish it was less mundane than that, but I want to build a skill set that can help me finally get employed, potentially remotely, where I am right now. Ideally I want to combine my non-CS/non-programming education/background with something that can help me get more employable in the current immigrant purgatory where I’ve been stuck in unemployment for a number of bullshit reasons. 3, 4. Pretty much my entire schedule is very flexible and I can move it around to prioritize learning with you. I can stay up late or wake up early, but if I had to choose as wide margin as possible I’d say any day between 0600 and 2300 UTC is doable for me for both one hour and two hour classes.
- This is a tricky question for me. I’m not entirely sure! I’ve never really taken a CS/programming class (other than online tutorials and one-way impersonal MOOCs), so having an actual teacher to talk to would be new to me. It would definitely be a beginner class. My first thought is to have a structured, steady dose of materials and exercises while I try to work on some sort of project of my own, which is pretty standard procedure I guess. Honestly it would also be amazing to hear about what is possible, what are the career paths, and how I could apply programming/CS skills to something else than just being able to stay alive via paycheck in this capitalistic hell world. Ngl, it would be nice to also be inspired by programming by a real human being since I’ve never really had a chance to see and hear anyone do that for a living.
Fuck this guy’s lack of ambition I’m over here about to start a new planet.
Well shit, there’s a followup edit on this post from the Maestro himself where among other things he tags Ben Shapiro on the woman’s crotch and I wish I could come up with that myself but no this is really what he did.
As for what inspired the piece, the artist writes:
This illustration was made in 2001, a few days after the terrible tragedy. Again, I drew a woman, as a symbol of the Western lifestyle against which that attack was aimed, by extremists who deny women all rights, including the right to dress as they want.
