I forget how pathetic the Nazi Empire was at least compared to what it dreamt of being. It started expanding in 1937 (or was it ‘38?) and rapidly gained territory until late 1942 when it started losing territory in North Africa with Operation Torch and with an incredible Soviet defense of their key cities the Nazis maxed out their empire in only five years, and even then they didn’t even have any real control outside of their imperial core in Central Europe! They were marauders, looters and genocidaires who put all their efforts into murdering innocent people for not fitting into their little psychotic hug box of xenophobia. I shudder thinking about if they had focused “just” on political enemies and eugenics because they might still be around to this day (I mean a coherent nazi state not nazis in general). Then I think about it a little more and holy shit if that isn’t what America is: a toned down version of the Fourth Reich.
So far Cyberpunk 2077 has functioned on my PS4. The textures are dull, but the rest looks like a PS4 game at the end of the consoles life. I’ve noticed few glitches save for the kind you expect in any open world game (some NPC Buddhist monk vanished into thin air). The gun play is…standard. The voice acting is…okay. The world and world building feels lackluster only in that it doesn’t have the same esoteric oddity of old cyberpunk fiction, but that might have to do with living in a cyberpunk reality just with less cassette tapes and analog computers. It’s a next gen game that can (kind of) run on current Gen consoles. I’m happy I can play it with its problems because I won’t be shelling out several hundred for a new console for a new game. At the least I wish that games would let you turn down things like on PC to get a smoother experience. I played Crysis on a home desktop on first release and it looked janky, but it still played once I turned everything down. Looks like consoles need to join the “it’s not great, but it’s edible” club.
I’m so grateful for my parents reading about these examples…my dads at least some kind of liberation catholic who is anti-abortion but for some incredibly idealistic reasons that I think I helped point him in the direction to socialism (eg his views not mine but: birth control should be free, sex Ed should be better, single moms should get total assistance, parents need assistance with raising kids, and EVEN nonviable offspring should not be born especially if the mothers life is at risk; all of this is a huge step for him mind you). He also said that the Romanovs deserved what they got and the entire confederate military and polity should’ve been executed lol.
Jesus: Be kind, be forgiving, give to the poor, give food and medicine to those who need it, be willing to die for others because you love them so much no matter what. Get executed in one of those worst ways possible.
These pricks: Pronouns?! Tolerance?! This is too much man!
Sounds like my man Steve is getting it good and I’m drinking to him. Doesn’t matter if he’s gay/straight/or NB but if you sound like you’re dying while you’re getting some then kudos to you champ.
Bingo! I’ve always had a low key interest in sports but I absolutely hate the culture around it. So the team I wanted to win, lost. Oh well. Why is the national anthem played before any game that’s insane! And the ads are just ridiculous. I just wanna drink beer, eat some chips and watch some dudes throw around a rubber ball. I already have internet, insurance and I know where to buy food.
The most historic year in history?! COVID is bad but it’s not exactly this epoch defining moment. It’s an historical year sure, but the most historic year in recorded history? Fuck off Black Mirror you bunch of pseudo-intellectual ninnies. 2020 was a bad year for a lot of people, but to think it was the worst time for mankind reeks of historical illiteracy and narcissism.
It’s courteous to address someone how they would like to be addressed: man, woman, he, her, they, just their name, he’ll even Mr. or Miss or Mrs are signs of respecting how someone would like to be addressed. With transgender peoples now you have the tiniest amount of being considerate with something deemed “weird” mixed with all sorts of online-ness so people have a shit fit when a celebrity realizes they’re trans and would like to be addressed as such. You can chalk it up to transphobia (which it is), but it’s a deeper rot into how they cannot see themselves as part of a society filled with other people like them capable of emotions and vulnerabilities. In a way they’re sociopaths and I honestly don’t know how we handle this widespread cultural sociopathy when the advice of “just be nice to people” is met with “why should I.”
