Hey guys. I have a question for those of you who are from America. Is it something that happens at all to hear “anti-elderly” sentiments outside of the internet, like for example, the idea that people above a certain age shouldn’t be allowed to vote or run for political office? If so, are these ideas also present among less political, more normie-leaning younger people, or only among young people who are very outspoken liberal/leftist? Thanks in advance.
Justification for the question inside the spoiler tag
One time this week I was answering a Buzzfeed quiz with a group of about 15 people for a language class, and one of the questions was about if people above a certain age should be allowed to vote or run for political office. Everyone in the group said they should, but the results said that most people who answered the quiz thought they shouldn’t. This made me think about the fact that although I never see this opinion expressed in my country anywhere even on the internet, it seems to be normalized at least on English social media, even if it’s still controversial. The group was as socially liberal as it gets, all urban people in their twenties, split down the middle in terms of gender, almost all of the men were openly gay, lots of them smoked weed regularly, so I thought they would be the demographic that would be most likely to have this opinion or know people who have this opinion if they were from America, but people thought this was very fringe and chalked it up to edgy teenagers brigading the quiz. Then I got anthropological curiosity and came here to ask this question.
So Amber was there for this picture but not for the podcast episode? Weird.

This is the Auntology thing, right? At least Basuria and Yuyencia. I don’t know a lot about it but I’ve read some articles.
