I’m feeling nostalgic. How good was it being a kid (if you are my age) and waiting for new episodes of the Simpsons, or even daily episodes on Channel 10 at 6 just after neighbours (and my dad yelling to turn the tv down because he hated the neighbours theme song)
What makes you feel nostalgic?
I am one of those people who hate chasing up money even though I have been owed it. The person I was dealing with is nice but they haven’t paid me for some work I did, so do you think a simple “Hey, how’s it going? I was wondering if you had a chance to talk to payroll/admin regarding the payment for [event] we discussed?” would be fine?
As I will soon be having my own kitchen (for the first time in 2 years) and I want to continue my healthy eating/losing weight, does anyone have some good websites for healthy dinner recipes? Trying to get on top of it so I don’t get junk food under the guise of ‘I just moved, you deserve it’.
Plus I am excited to learn to cook.
Does anyone in here do Yoga? How is it for mindfulness?
I’m wanting to ‘get in tune’ with myself once I’m in the new place and starting the new chapter of my life. I feel like over the past 10 years I’ve become a worse person so I want to be better and reset my mind so to speak with meditation and journeling and even Yoga.
I might be putting an offer on a house to someone who is apparently desperate to sell for personal reasons. I’m going for another look and will get a building inspector to also take a look. The kitchen needs to be redone because apparently it was made for Shaq - for real the bench tops are so high - and the oven looks like it wouldn’t be up to code (it’s all old anyway).
The house has been on the market for a long time without much interest it appears as well.
I was once told that the first offer you make should be so low it even embarrasses you to offer it. I figure if the guy is keen to sell and “very flexible” may as well try it - especially given a few things need to be done to the house. It’s livable now, but it needs a split system, a small part of it is unfinished (very minor and no big deal but why I am also getting a building inspector) and definitely needs a new kitchen so I figure I’ll put those reasonings in for a lower offer too.
Any one ever done this? This is all new to me. It scares me spending so much money.
The Pirate’s Curse is now officially available. Take a look, and please consider sharing with friends or family who might be into that kind of book (action, adventure, clive cussler/matthew reilly fans.)
Thanks.
Where I work is a large rectangular room. It’s me and 2 others. The other 2 aren’t here at the moment.
I sit at the far end, behind me is a wall and behind that are 5 doors - 3 go to toilets, 1 to a meeting room and 1 to a cupboard. There are 2 ways into this office, the front door which leads outside and to the side of it is a door leading upstairs. Both are in front of me.
So, I’m sitting here, on my own when some lady walks in. I’ve never seen her before. But she has a work badge on. She says hello and then disappears into the area behind me where the toilets are.
That was 20 minutes ago.
After about 10 minutes I realised I hadn’t seen her leave or heard any noises and start wondering if I imagined it or what. So I take a look into the hallway. The office is empty. 2 of the three toilet doors are open, no lights on. The cupboard is the cupboard. No way she’s in there. Only place to be is the last door leading to the toilet. But the lights are off so either doing a very peaceful poop or she’s not there.
Also the fans are randomly going off.
So weird.
Finally moved into my house and finally got to cook in a kitchen for the first time in 2 years. I made a honey chicken stir fry with brown rice and added some jalapeno sauce to the marinade. Delicious!
Now I need some quick and easy and healthy ideas for tonight…suggestions?
I swear to God the gardener at work gets some weird satisfaction revving his petrol leaf blower. It’s the most annoying, infuriating sound that makes me want to go all Liam Neeson on his ass.
