Are you planning on playing games? What kinds?
Compiling code?
Just using cloud apps in browser?
Unfortunately the deliveries to the various pickup boxes is critical. I’ve tried looking into general delivery to a post office or to look at specific (eg Home Depot) pickup options with no success.
As a primary internet source I could not recommend Visible. The de-prioritization was very noticeable and the coverage wasn’t great. (Even Verizon is piggybacking on some carriers in some areas - and in those areas Visible isn’t supported.)
I kept it around for a while for large file downloads - it was slow but I didn’t have to worry about data caps. Eventually I dropped it when I got a Starlink.
Duolingo was mentioned.
But one of the good things about AAA games is that they’re often voiced and captioned in multiple languages.
So, after picking up some basics – give a new player + playthrough of something you’re already familiar with in a new language.
Historically - desktops.
However - for the past ~3 years I’ve been on a laptop.
- Less power draw - if I need to run on solar.
- Data caps - run to a library if some game needs a 100gb update - this has partially been alleviated with Starlink.
- Work trips - ~2 hours of gaming on the hotel bed is needed after a day of meetings.
Fall – weather and things are just kind of winding down as you approach the Holidays.
