You can search the modlog for my previous comment and proximity to the vaccine program.

Saw your comment in there but why was it deleted? No reason was given.

That doesn’t stop some folks, including on Hexbear, pulling the reductionist take of “and so are we, especially you if you disagree.” Something something meat computers something something meatspace get schwifty

There was one meatspace bro on here who said that because of “meditation” that they agreed that we were basically giant meatballs or something like that. Honestly sounded like it came straight out of the Sam Harris subr*ddit…

Weren’t the Bernie people all for the Joe Rogan endorsement tho? You may not like it, but maybe biting the bullet for some kind of coalition with Destiny would be good in putting people in the leftist pipeline.

Also, definitions; the unitary self is illusory. Sentience, the ability to feel and perceive, is not. It’s a very important distinction.

Sounds like this guy (mr meat bro) has been watching too many Sam Harris videos and thinks that he’s some kind of mantra master observer or something 🤣

The rate of abuse is six times higher amongst people were themselves subject to a use. While most would never, they are still six times more likely.

Sure but then this line of reasoning is used to justify all sorts of bad things cuz “black ppl are X times more likely to commit crimes” or “hispanics are X times more likely” or whatever. In fact this style of argument is used by those STEMlord types who love to talk to about IQ, even though the IQ researchers themselves are VERY reluctant to say anything definitive (as they should be since any kind of science is pretty much subject to all sorts of biases)

Yeah I mean that’s true.

Is it thought? I’ve seen it referred to as a harmful myth.

Perhaps but out there in the real world ppl do all the time, so it may in fact be a harmful myth, as others have suggested.

It’s been talked about for a while: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/fathers-financial-abortion_b_1015286 (Huffpost: Should Men Have the Right to ‘Financial Abortions’?) but it hasn’t caught on; I’d speculate its due to people still clinging to traditional norms.

What I notice is that people will unironically support someone like Will Smith, but when pressed on how escalating violence is a bad thing, they’ll retreat to “oh it doesn’t matter why do you care anyways?” Or what’s worse, they’ll double down and say how they would “throw down” or whatever in real life, which I highly doubt. There’s no way they’d be that stupid to risk going to jail just cuz someone insulted their momma or whatever. Or risk getting decked by someone much bigger or stronger than them.
