Which person decided to domesticate that thing. Just like “hey I found this weird looking grass fruit wanna enslave it” and chief’s like “hell yeah of course I wanna enslave it!” and then they just ate increasingly beady grass for a few thousand years
if it’ll make me look like i have Drug Seeking Behavior ™
In the US people with ADHD are particularly fucked here, there are a large range of doctors from reasonable and willing to work with you on a treatment plan, to immediately trying to gaslight you into thinking you’re a drug addict or that you don’t have ADHD, to just handing you whatever you ask for without question. Thankfully I haven’t had to deal with any doctors on the extreme ends, mine have been reasonable. I don’t even try with insurance agencies though, they’re a lost cause when it comes to… well, anything, but especially mental disabilities and specifically ADHD. I already got 80k+ of medical debt I’m literally never going to repay from a seizure I had one time, so I’m not so worried about hospital emergencies… probably not smart, but I don’t have enough to lose to care.
I can’t think of many things you encounter every day that just use straight iron. Only alloys that use iron
Meanwhile, you’ll use very pure aluminum all the time
EDIT: I just realized that I probably just accidentally manually disabled it somehow? My default languages were Undetermined and Cymraeg (Welsh) for some reason. I do not speak Welsh, fortunately. I don’t know how I would’ve achieved that but it’s probably not because of the instance, now that I think about it.
In my opinion, they should have English as a default language. I don’t like being Anglo-centric and all but like, most people using Lemmy definitely speak English and most people probably don’t know that this setting is causing communities to be excluded in the first place.
Really I think every language should be enabled by default. Like make “unspecified” language include other languages. Or have a “see communities using any languages” option. I don’t know if Lemmy can do that though. Content shouldn’t be hidden by default methinks, at least without informing you of it explictly. And this is just a Boost thing, but I can’t see the option in my account settings in-app.
