This is one of those things that I don’t think we can even conceive of because of the systems we are currently born into.

There won’t be any regulations, but I think education around these topics will be much more holistic. If you’re obsessively doing something, whether its taking drugs or pursuing entertainments non stop, chances are you are just trying to escape something in your life.

But on the other hand, a very close friend of mine medicates with weed. She says she prefers its side effects to anti-anxiety / anti-depressants, though I could never imagine smoking as much weed as her myself.

I only heard the promo, but we’ve really moved past his argument for harm prevention. That ship has sailed. Environment, discourse, concentration camps, fraudulent elections, stacked federal judiciary. All of them broken beyond repair. Biden and Kamala will only work to normalize these broken systems, then point at them as the reason we can’t ask for revolutionary change when re election time comes.

Heated debate about transgenderism. Looks like my dad had taken the bait and watches too much media. He dismissed transitioning as a legitimate treatment for gender dysphoria, insisting that those afflicted should take SSRIs or some such. My wife and I made the point that transitioning IS the treatment; it is drastically better in terms of outcomes and (can be) much less invasive and impactful. I think he also watched that (PragerU?) “documentary” that was promoted on X, I was able to shut him up by telling him that only 1 or 2 people in the last decade have regretted transitioning, but conservative media makes these cases seem more common than they are. Finally moved off the topic by pointing out that I dont really think its a big deal who plays which sports, considering the material state of the world. Now I’m kicking myself for not saying trans rights are human rights, and for moving to a meta-conversation about discourse like a fucking lib.

Yeah employers fail perfectly good candidates so they can “prove” they can’t get domestic labor to fill their positions. This allows them to sponsor Visas, and international workers can’t leave no matter how bad the conditions are. It’s really modern day indentured servitude
