I feel like there’s an element of it that’s basically this big mental logjam where the US both has a lot of black men as the symbol of its masculinity and white women of its femininity, but they are at the same time not allowed to be let out of specific places on the hierarchy.

Like I think even if the US was socialist this would still be the case and is a long term result of having huge amounts of violent repression on that specific type of relationship combined with the massive cultural shift afterwards. It’s this deep scar in the Ameribrain that gives people boners when they tickle it.

Really cool how the US managed to delete the fact that we spent the entire early part of the crisis with capitalist using the feds to literally steal protective equipment from the states to resell. Also really cool how we no longer talk about how the electoral system resulted in the government aiding or crippling the virus response based on how those states voted.

The poor can’t really afford to choose where to live so you’d just have the wealthier leftist move to an area and immediately displace whatever working class used to be there. It’d basically be a repeat of the same process that made chapo and the rest of the NYC/California lefty media clique.

Even outside of the left/right dynamic Biden’s cabinet choices are a big sign of the decay within the party. The patronage networks are full up of people who aren’t competent or popular as the failures keep piling up from administration to administration. There also aren’t enough seats to go around as the dems population base is completely disproportionate to the amount of territory they control. It’s going ratchet up the pressure for the bottom of the party to cannibalize the top, but not necessarily along ideological lines as even the moderates aren’t going to have a career path unless they can make people like John Kerry fuck off.
