Starting to feel more and more like I’m intruding on the private chat of a highschool class

It’s been like that for a while here, I’ve given up on any serious political discussion since this place has settled into a “kids shitposting” zeitgeist

Be as serious as you want. I’m just really sick of the Shrek memeing or any other really repetitive gag being overdone while adding nothing to it to actually make it funny. It’s just annoying.

Honestly it’s the anti natalists and lack of horny mindfulness gets my goat way more, but rule of three. I just find the Shrek thing annoying and juvenile

Shrek came out when I was ten and at any time they needed to put on a movie to shut the kids up for a while it would be Shrek every damn time. This along with years of kids repeating lines ad nauseum. The ironic Shrek meme thing has its time in like 2012, just let it die.

it’s less individuals being un-serious and more that there are obvious hot-button topics that a significant portion of the userbase doesn’t have the ability to approach without going full blast “found a liberal on reddit” incoherent. It’s not worth discussing some stuff because you’ll just end up fending off bad faith arguments, so we’re basically just a meme aggregator.

I’m not entirely sure what the Zoomers are doin, but the kids seem mostly alright.

Yeah it’s really weird. I’m in my early 20s and the latest events have me feeling too old for this lol. Last time we did a survey 25% of people were under 18, soooo yeah…
