- America put yatsenyuk in power (he took out huge IMF loans that put most ukrainian farmland in the hand of foreign capitalists)
- America poured billions into Yeltsin’s campaign in the 90s and supported him materially and ideologically as he shelled Russian parliament, banned parties, banned newspapers, and rolled back labor rights
- America supported and benefited from the mass privatization of the former USSR that destroyed nationalized industries and put them into the hands of oligarchs
- America supported right wing extremists in Ukraine and Russia for decades
- NATO expanded right up to the Russian border despite assurances to Gorbachev this would not happen
