That’s one of the biggest problems with leftist discourse: long-windedness. The right has got all these bite-size podcasts of 10-20 minutes that do a good job explaining their positions and riling up the masses. The left? Here’s my 180 minute podcast which, even if you do start watching it, spends the first 5 minutes with connection problems, some troubleshooting, one of the guests is late, another guest’s microphone sucks and it sounds like they’re underwater, and they spend the first half hour cracking dumb jokes and jockeying for social position among each other instead of just talking about the TOPIC OF THE VIDEO.

Leftist comedians can do a Tight Five in their sleep. Rightwing dipshits like Benny and Peterson will drone on for fucking hours, until your brain melts out your ears. This isn’t a problem of discourse nearly so much as exposure.

Matt Walsh getting “What Is A Woman?!” ads plastered across every social media feed for a month is going to do numbers well beyond what his weird pseudoscience schpels about trans-people deserve. Meanwhile, how many of your grandparents have ever shared a clip from PhilosophyTube or a comedy set from Stavy?

Most podcasts do an intro and an outro that’s pitched to the regular audience. They follow the Late Night format, which has proven wildly successful both at cultivating an audience and doing big numbers long term. Nobody bitches at SNL for doing 10 minutes of sketch comedy before letting the guest-host have a crack at the mic.
