One thing being a radical centrist does is make you feel “above” politics. You never have to come up with a conclusion, the answer is always to throw your arms up and say “it’s complicated” before criticizing the “discourse” around the issue.
You don’t even have to research a topic, the fact that all factions in a conflict are equally bad and has equal amounts of power is a priori. You will always come to the same conclusion of “isn’t the discourse around this so tiring? All sides are bad!”
South Park was a mistake
Centrism is such a lazy position to have. Everyone I know who swears by it will conveniently use it to shut out leftist opinions while reluctantly including right-wing opinions.
People support Palestinian’s, not Hamas. (unless you are a le epic edge lord)
Hamas is not a “good” organization. They are a fundamentalist, anti communist organization that would repress women’s and LGBT rights if they had control. While you can sympathize with the reason for their existence, actively praising them is objectively bad. Endorsing a reactionary org that seeks to impose it’s fundamentalist views on everyone in the region they control is not something leftists advocate for
Militant action against Israeli - good
fundamentalist, reactionary anti-communist ideas the group hold - bad
sadly some ppl get into leftism to simply be against the status quo or to be edgy. The same ppl prolly praise how effectively China is rooting out extremism and fundamental beliefs in Xinjiang
(The point is the contradiction, not saying China bad)
Or people get into leftism for good reasons, but occasionally slip into lazy oversimplifications.
It is in the interest of the Israeli state to portray all Palestinian resistance from Hamas. It’s part of what makes this meme and type of thinking, which is pervasive in Democratic circles. You let them conflate Palestinian militancy with Hamas and you know these things about Hamas being a fundamentalist essentially right wing org, and you certainly wouldn’t want to support that, so you say nothing, which is effectively supporting the status quo.
are you referring directly to me or just lib twitter?
like obviously I support militant Palestinian resistance
