Chinese IDs all follow a standard format (i.e. these digits are date of birth, these other ones are the province you live in, etc) so you can basically just make a random ID that could theoretically be a person and it’ll usually let you in. Online restrictions in general are not new and kids are clever.

The games reward cycles especially in looters are literally designed around reward schedules which are well studied in psych to get people hooked (also used by casinos). Why do we want these systems to predate on kids? Anyway, I would say a bigger challenge to this policy is to also provide healthier alternatives for kids to socialize. If school is too stressful and there are no parks, fields, sports, cultural centres, etc for the kids to hang out and do stuff in then just taking this away won’t be effective.
Also, this article is very interesting in this context. It references studies that indicate that having a healthier social environment provides very strong protection from substance addiction.
