Every 3 years libs reinvent third way politics and think it’s a revolutionary new idea. The wild part is doing it at a time when left wing ideas, both on economics and cultural issues, are widely popular.

To be fair though it is the unpopular opinion. Left wing policies like decent healthcare are popular.
The opinion being given here is on how to implement policy not the policy itself. You’re right Left wing policies are definitely popular bc they’re unambiguously good, generally speaking. People, asked in a vacuum, or generally going to agree good things should happen.
How to get good things tho, is more ambiguous and thus easier to propagandize people on. I think most liberals would agree that capitulation is the way forward bc it appeals to their civility minded politics and aligns with the recuperated stories about how meaningful change has been brought about in the past. Also it benefits capital. I mean that’s why it’s the prevailing ideology amongst liberals in the first place
