i said the jokes weren’t funny before, but now that it has bombed twice I think its wrapped around to being funny again.
Solidarity to the people for not going to see this shit
This was actually an interesting experiment to see if memes translates to box office cash though. I don’t support it, but hey I was curious too.
Because if it worked out, holy shit we’d be in for a nightmare of “purposely” bad movies trying to meme their way to box office success.
Not talking about like Troma stuff or anything like that, that elevated cheese to an art form.
Morbius already made more than double it’s budget. It’s clear that movies are being made to follow internet trends that try to create meme moments rather than people making memes about moments of the movie. This is obvious when movies are now being released on demand which allows screenshots of the movie to be made to make memes of them with the bonus effect of the movie being digestible through osmosis of the memes (this is shown clearly when the meme becomes the movie itself in 144p gif format). The movie’s actual content does not matter, it is in fact up to us to create the meme moments of the film in the absence of what we usually expect whenever these superhero movies come out (the Thanos memes are still persistent to this day.)
I was worried that the memes would make Morbius money, but I’m glad they merely managed to bring up some executives’ hopes only to crush them
So proud of the internet that everyone got the joke, the emoji movie probably made a lot of money from ironic viewers but luckily Jared Leto is a very easy actor to boycott
best punchline of the year contender
Let’s keep the memes up even more and see if we can get them to release it a 3rd time.
Next step: make enough memes to convince them to make Morbius 2
Is Anne Rice still alive? Could… could she do a final script rewrite for whatever AI generated thing is vomited out?
