Even if you treat this stuff as plausible and people were actually able to earn a living by playing games, it seems incredibly bleak to me and just indicative of how capitalism has warped our sense of what our lives can be. Like, this is just the Fordist production line reimagined as a series of games and with any useful end product removed. That some people can only imagine utopia as a system where we’re locked into a more pleasurable form of drudgery is really sad. No true (proletarian) democracy, no expansion of human potential and of the self, no meaningful (rational) goals to achieve, just a gamified version of capitalist production

This description sounds like any MMO.
The thing games companies are enticing people with crypto games is the prospect of getting real life money by playing these games. They saw that world of warcraft had a real money auction and think it’s some sort of new block chain societal economic model.
But this guy is just excited that grinding out 1 million sims bucks being transferable to his fortnite character.

This all sounds exhausting
