I mostly went to sports camps where we’d either train in a particular sport or just did physical activities. I personally loved it and still talk to the friends I made while there.
Yeah summer camp is a thing. It’s for kids to do during summer break.
Never went myself. The park I play disc golf at has two camps during the summer. The Tom Sawyer day camp where they play games and do crafts and sing songs. They also have that stupid boot camp for young people in trouble with the law. The people running the latter put a lot of effort in being the biggest assholes possible.
most of the summer camps i went to were day camps, so they were not like overnight camps that people think of when they think of summer camps. i did go to one overnight camp though (but it wasn’t like idealized ones that were often portrayed in media) my family had a bad experience with it, and we went home early because of it.
