Okay so like was it like an every summer thing? How long was it? This is fascinating 🧐
Some people might go to a camp every year they were in the age range and even go back as counselors afterward, but I don’t think that’s typical.
I went to band camp for a few years in high schoo. It was nice. Lasted about a week. We didn’t do all the outdoorsy summer camp stuff because we were practicing instead, but we were still in the woods and doing all the funny rituals like waking up to a bugle and singing at mealtimes.
There were some other one-off times I got to go to a camp for a few days, which were pretty similar.
Yeah summer camp is a thing. It’s for kids to do during summer break.
Summer camps is what happens if you give people only 15 vacation days, but give their kids a 6 week summer holiday.
