He thought there should be more Black people on television period, iirc she was the first Black regular cast member in television (if not she was certainly one of the first)

I will always think her work with NASA and getting kiddos and students involved with the sciences is a great part of her legacy. She helped create a new generation of thinkers, do-ers, and explorers both on and off the screen. What a cool person, she we live on in the arts and sciences as her influence is far and wide.
