Can someone explain to me what releasing the strategic reserves is accomplishing? Are they putting that shit on auction? Or is it just GIVEN to the oil companies for refining? How is it that there’s not some kind of strings attached to that to actually lower prices.
Are they just dumping oil into the market saying to themselves “Surely a glut in supply MUST make prices go down, it’s economics 101!” while just flat ignoring the ologopic market and clear silent collusion not to compete on price? Are they that stupid? Or are they totally satisfied to show that democrats can be good for oil too and this is covert palm greasing for the donors?
