Here in the west, the same side that whines about “postmodernism” is religiously devoted to its ideology where even accepting certain facts or believing comfortable lies becomes like a dietary choice or picking out fashion, and the latter is more fashionable these days.
China will eventually kick the west’s ass as we will deserve it because too many CHUDs were too busy complimenting themselves to do anything.
Tangential, but I need to write this somewhere.
It’s so baffling when conservatives wail about teachers ‘indoctrinating students’ into their ‘evil woke-ist’ ways. Like, do you guys not remember being in school yourselves? Did you and your friends put a lot of stock in what the teachers had to say? The key word their is “friends” – teachers don’t control the social norms of a school, the students do. Oh, sure, the teachers get to set the hard rules and structured lessons. But that’s all just scaffolding. Learning facts and skills is a(n important) secondary feature of schools. The main work of the thing is as a cushioned environment for interacting with peers. Chuds keep repeating satanic panics over youth culture, and it’s as funny as it is sad.

Schools (worldwide) utterly fail at this. (See: the bullying epidemic)
I think the whole idea of forcing certain groups of children to be together is a recipe for disaster. Some people simply cannot tolerate each other, and their mutual presence will spark conflict. Forcing these people to be together will lead to fights which make the school environment unsafe and distresses students. If a student is not respected by their peers, they must be allowed to find new peers. Otherwise, they will get bullied mercilessly.
Education is good if not for literacy alone, but having a fundamental understanding of math and science is also incredibly important too.
sorry if anyone is arguing against this youre just a reactionary, school (the concept of) is necessary and good.
:comfy-cool: i fucking love learning things. i love to be in a building with teachers and learners and books!
