Ohio really be jerking off to music
oregon makes sense for furry, didn’t know that about indiana though
Utah’s top porn search being “Mormon”, might be the funniest thing on there.
Hey SC, how’s it going?
GILF
:yea:
Am I the only one really grossed out by these kind of lists?
Yeah it just seems really perverse in all of the worst ways.
If this is what’s popular, no wonder dating is screwed up these days. Imagine being anything other than a plain dude and having to worry if you’re being fetishised by some pervert.
I don’t think this list means literally everybody that’s on pornhub is hyperfocused on weird fetishes.
Considering how diverse this list is I don’t really think it means much unless you assume sex cultures differ wildly between US states, I think most people just put in the search bar what they’re in the mood for that day, it doesn’t mean it’s literally the only thing they can get off to.
i would imagine there are a lot of people without a specific fetish or interest that just click around. like, are there really an appreciable amount of people going to a major porn site, ignoring the front page entirely, and typing “sex” in the search? it’s not like google where there’s just a search bar with these sites. most of every page is clickable “popular/mainstream” content.
so this type of analysis ignores that (probably most common) type of user and focuses only on people who are searching for something specific, which is probably going to be something weirdly specific.
For your sanity, I’ll note that they’re probably using the number of searches rather than the number of unique users searching each term. So presumably, the top terms as well as the bulk of content produced skew heavily toward “power users” to put it mildly
Also, non-power users might be more likely to save the content they like instead of searching for it each time, since it’s harder to find than what the power users are searching for
