if it’s a technical manual, I definitely don’t listen to music because I’m a dumbass and get distracted when the fuckin wind blows.

I listen to prog math/rock when I have to read technical stuff… It kind of sets my brain in tech mode

I sometimes use white noise or rain noise or a mix of the two like this but yeah most of the time it’s just dead silence.

I made the mistake of listening to nothing but the creaking and cracking of the old-ass cavernous house I was visiting while reading it
