Just admit to yourself that you left the rice on for too long or whatever and that it’s going to take some real scrubbing to get it clean again. It’s okay, I’m here for you. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to solving it.

When ever i go to a house, doesn’t matter what ethnicity but for sure white, that used the old pot and finger rice method the rice comes out as watery slop. Like not even poridge. Just watery gross rice.

I’m a grade A slob, but I’ve never understood people who leave dishes to soak for days on end. The thought of having a basin of still water in my house full of food bits? Couldn’t do it.

I remember when I was a kid I went with my mom to a family friend’s house. And their dog had shit on the floor. In a corner, out of the way, but still, dogshit on the floor. On carpet. We were there for hours and no one cleaned it up. The family even joked with each other about which one of them would eventually clean it up. I’m still confused about it. For me, if an animal makes a mess that’s a “drop everything and deal with this immediately” situation. I would’ve assumed that was true for everyone. But nope, guess not.

The problem is ADHD and I’ll get around to it if I’ve used every other pan or I magically get a spur of motivation every 3 weeks where I will furiously clean my kitchen for two hours.

Same with me, except my kid sort of forces me to maintain some sort of routine. Also I want her to have a decent life/upbringing so I force myself to do it, even if it takes a bit more of my energy.

If it’s a nonstick pan then it’s shot at that point. If you gotta scrub hard to get stuff off it means you’re releasing the teflon into your food.

Teflon is nonstick, so it should come right out if you eat it.

It’s gotta be fine

There’s a difference between Teflon the coating and PFAS which is used in the production of the former. Teflon in your food seems to be relatively benign

I was joking about Teflon sliding right through, but thanks for the link about the specifics of how it’s terrible.

I just thought it was probably bad, didn’t really look into it ever. I just stopped using nonstick because it felt wasteful more than anything else. The pans are garbage and stick after less than 5 years.
