Realistically? The “undesirables” will be forced to through either circumstance or overtly.
I don’t foresee a revolution immediately doing away with all inequities or prejudices, so realistically the people currently at the bottom of the ladder will be in a similar position.
We see stuff like this in Cuba as one example, the black Cubans are still suffer from inequalities and such even if the revolution has improved their material conditions extensively.
I don’t think it’s a good thing, but I’m not going to be surprised if that’s how it ends up here at first as well.
I assume that any understaffed jobs would be handled by the local community body. So like, make a register of who has what jobs in your vicinity, and if anyone doesn’t work or has a lot of free time, ask them to help out by cleaning the toilets or something. Get a rota going.
I remember when I read Dinotopia as a kid, there was a part that introduced the guys who go around the city with wheelbarrows and shovel up the dinosaur shit. They were well respected and treated as heroes. That stuck with me.
