As a Muslim Comrade, this thread is getting a yikes from me. The deformed worker’s state in Beijing doesn’t deny that there is a massive ‘re-education’ programme ongoing in the region, so please tell me why Muslims are the only ones who need re-educating?
My understanding is that the re-education is aimed at extremists to deradicalise them.
You would be in favor of the same thing being done by France or Britain then? Who gets to decide which Muslims, and why only Muslims, need to be deradicalized?
Nazis and christian fundamentalists should be deradicalized too. For me the devil is in the detail, not the country that does it. I have to read up on how exactly it works in China but as far as I understand it they primarily focus on people that come back form Syria after they were with ISIS.
Yeah the version of events China claims (which is almost definitely much closer to the truth than anything Zenz has even said), is actually pretty shit. It’s a paternalistic, hegemonic cultural attitude that reeks of a white man’s burden view.
Yeah it’s a better reaction than America has had to terrorism (either the constantly funding it thing or the genocidal retribution against it thing), but that’s a low bar.
