for real tho this is pretty disappointing to see coming from him. all the people that I personally know who see biden as our savior from trump the ultimate evil have just started paying attention to politics this year. i’m really interested to see how many of them just stop paying attention to politics again know that trump is defeated
“Biden is just as bad as Trump” is a loser of an argument. We’ve tried it for years and lost. Other third parties have tried it for decades and lost. Debating whether it’s true is for libs – it doesn’t matter, it won’t get you anywhere either way.
What might work is the “Biden isn’t going to do anything of substance on climate change, endless wars, police brutality, covid, healthcare, etc.” If they want to argue that Biden will be a bit better on something like immigration or whatever, fine. Just hammer home that he’s still dogshit on ten other enormous issues. They can’t argue the big stuff, at least not convincingly, so don’t trap yourself with an absolutist argument that opens up a discussion on every policy under the sun.
Then problem is if you give them that he’s better on literally anything, they’ll just pivot to that being the reason you have to vote for him despite everything else.
But that only works in the general election. In a primary, if there’s a better candidate, it doesn’t.
And you can always just lie about voting if that keeps derailing the conversation. Our voting system is designed specifically to keep your vote private so that you can lie to people who would harass you about who you vote for. It’s one of the few things we got right.
That’s why the silver lining is when Biden is President we can call him out on bad shit he is currently doing. Other than the crime bill, which libs ignore, they can pick and choose what policies Biden actually had a hand in. Iraq war? That was Bush. Anything in the Obama administration? He wasn’t president.
Lol yeah it’s us that just discovered politics this year that think Biden’s decades long record of horrible shit is what makes him as bad as Trump, that makes sense.
