I understand it, its something people say a lot about transwomen on the internet, and I’m not saying its not a worthwhile thing to ever talk about, but it is a strange and uncomfortable thing to shoehorn into this critique which has nothing to do with how feminine contra is now or with transness at all
The way I see it it’s basically the same as talking about “rich white gays” like Buttigieg. Contrasting the fact that they belong to a traditionally oppressed minority with the fact that they themselves aren’t oppressed and therefore become traitors to their peers and further right than the average member of that minority.

I’ve come to really dislike breadtube. It started as something to cheer on just as an opposition to chud youtube and all the dweeby “skeptics” on there, but It’s become another “media consumption as politics” trap rife with libshit masquerading as leftism. Hbomberguy is basically the only one from there that I still watch (Shaun is also good but not as rewatchable because he does heavy shit, fair enough), and I really hope he actually makes more videos since he has people to help him plan and schedule his shit out now.

There is a thriving new redtube (lol) i have only gotten aquiainted with in the past few months, after spending forever sifting through the breadtube shlock.
I mean, it’s a show where they spend 2 hours reading a Wikipedia article and making dumb jokes and when the article ends they are just “well, that’s that” and the episode just ends without them going to any real detail.
I really like subject matter and the hosts and their unique perspectives but lately their episodes have become increasingly phoned in and devoid of any real substance.

IIRC it was twitter beef from a few months ago where the discourse was about whether or not sex work would exist under communism, with some people saying it wouldn’t exist without the monetary needs and other(s) saying it would exist as “mutual sexual aid”.

Contrapoints has said what she has to say, and she did it 2-3 years ago. Now she continues to speak because it’s her job, but it’s increasingly cliched and vapid. She needs a new challenge and is unwilling to create challenging circumstances. Her art is dead, her voice deathless. Change or make space for new voices.
