I mean I have seen a lot of Asian girls only date white guys throughout my life. Certainly not all of them, but a decent percentage. I’d probably chalk it up to societal factors including past colonization, media portrayals of Asian dudes in western culture, etc.
There are real social pressures for the daughters of immigrant populations within the US to marry white men as a vehicle for social mobility
Yeah which is why you’ll see “marrying out” even in high income brackets. The extra social status of having a “white man by your side” adds extra status.
I mean, it’s just like I said:
but Peter Singer
The same Peter Singer that said that if you’re elderly and have dementia you should euthanize them, yet when his own mother had Alzheimer’s he spent money on her healthcare? Or the same Peter Singer that argued that it’s pretty much ok to rape disabled people? Fuck Peter Singer, his whole philosophy is whack and he doesn’t even stick to it himself.
Yeah it’s really good. I’m not sure if the objectors in this thread actually read the article, or even a tiny bit of it. The author isn’t talking about singularity doomerism or whatever. The author is talking about how currently existing tech could lead to massive job loss in many rote white collar jobs. I wonder if the prevalence of humanities in a lot of leftists makes them dismiss this issue (which is kinda weird considering they “trust the science” on climate change).
